| Need a Tax Deductible Donation? |
|
The AAP-CA3, a non-profit 501(c)3 is able to accept book money for sites and provide a tax deductible receipt. Sites that do not have this non-profit status can have donors send a check to the AAP- CA3 indicating that this money should be set aside for a particular site. After purchasing books sites can send us an invoice which we will deduct from their account. Or sites can participate in bulk book buying with the collaborative and use the money in their account. There is no charge to sites for this service.

Bottles for Books
Under the leadership of Child Health and Disability
Prevention (CHDP) Program's Blanca Casaubon,
PHN II, the Bottles for Books program was started in
January 2009 with two goals in mind ~ to help protect
the environment and generate income for RORSD to
support their efforts to promote early literacy.
Blanca installed recycling bins in the office to collect
plastic bottles, aluminum cans and glass bottles that
would otherwise be tossed into trash cans and end
up in landfills. Recycled materials are then taken to a
certified recycling center for redemption. Money
generated from the Maternal Child and Family Health
Services Branch is donated to the local chapter of the
American Academy of Pediatrics for the Reach Out
and Read program.
