To access information on your legislators, you can visit the following web sites: www.assembly.ca.gov and www.senate.ca.gov.
If you have a newly elected legislator either in the Assembly or Senate and/or you do not know or remember your legislators name, go to www.leginfo.ca.gov. Click on "Your Legislature". On the next screen put in your zip code. You will get the name of your state representatives. You may also want to know the legislators that represent the area in which you work; if so follow the same process.
You can participate directly in AAP-CA advocacy by visiting your legislator(s) in their local district office. The purpose of the visit is to introduce yourself as a resource on child health issues, and to educate them about our priorities.
Please contact your Chapter State Government Affairs (SGA) Representative for advice on how to schedule a visit, and for guidelines for interaction with legislators on behalf of the AAP-CA. Your SGA representatives can also provide you with an AAP-CA packet containing fact sheets on our top legislative issues.
